Week 8 – In St Louis!!

Well, I’m here in St Louis and I LOVE it! The humidity definitely doesn’t like my hair…but…we’re learning. Slowly. Ha. We got here on Tuesday not knowing anything about what was happening and once we got our luggage, there was no mission people…at all. We had no names, or numbers, or anything. But, can I tell you, I have never been so happy to see two missionaries in suits with name tags basically running down the airport terminal to find us. Happiest moment!! They took us to this little shop of Danish deliciousness where we met the owner who is from Kobenhavn – Copenhagen – and we spoke to him in Danish and understood him!! So great!! I loved it! Got my companions on Wednesday and have been working ever since!

We’re teaching a TON! And it really is incredible. We challenged one of the investigators to baptism on Saturday. Our first meeting with him was on Thursday. He is so ready and so willing. He will be baptized on the 15th of this month and as soon as he can receive the priesthood he will baptize his little girl!!! SO excited!! Oh. And we received 10 referrals from a member….rockstar! Seriously everyone, get to know your neighbors. It’s the greatest thing ever! And one of the referrals was to a guy who she thought wasn’t religious, who is in fact studying to be a Catholic Deacon who then told us to go baptize his neighbor. So we did. We go to give her a Mormons Bog and we’re explaining it right and she’s like oh yeah, I know Christ came to the Amerika’s. Uhm. WHAT?! Ok. Get baptzied. Now. That’d be cool.

But something that has really stuck out to me this week is that we really need to be in tune with the spirit. That is what guides us. One of our investigators has 4 theological degrees. FOUR! And he doesn’t know that he is a child of God. And another is a Medical Examiner and doesn’t know that there is a way to find happiness. These are seriously smart people!! And they don’t know these things. But what is amazing is that we are teaching them – two 21 yr olds and a 19 yr old. And they are SO eager to learn! It’s amazing.

I am so glad that I have the opportunity to see these things, and witness them. Heavenly Father really is our loving Father. We are His children and I am so humbled at the opportunity I have to be a missionary!!

Love you all! Have a great week!!
